William Delmere Mathis

March 7, 1917 — October 20, 2012

William Delmere Mathis Sr passed away peacefully on October 20, 2012 at age 95. Born in Missouri, he traveled to California at age 7 and lived in Pasadena-Duarte-Bradbury-Monrovia. He was a veteran of World War II. After graduating from Caltech with a degree in civil engineering, he worked at James M. Montgomery for some 40 years. Bill was instrumental with the incorporation of the city of Duarte. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Janna Vee, and their son Billy. Bill is survived by their 3 children, Dorothy, Tim, and Carla, 3 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, who will greatly miss his sense of humor.
