William Martin Luman

Born in Rosemead, California, he attended El Monte High School, and Chaffey Jr College where he played in the Junior Rose Bowl Game in 1947. Bill and served his country in the US Navy.
Dad will always be remembered as an amazing son who cared for his Mother, visiting every day and spending time with every other resident in the home who had no one else. He greeted them with his generous smile and hug as they waited in the hallway for his visit.
He set the example for his family as a kind and devoted husband. Sweethearts since high school, the Captain of the varsity football team at El Monte High School married Ann, the love of his life on August 18,1946. He cared for Mom her whole life, supporting her in all of their many travels and adventures, stating recently whatever made her happy made him happy. He simply lost his desire to go on after Mom died in September, passing just 5 weeks after his beloved wife of 69 yrs.
He was a loving, generous Grandpa to Jeff, Adam, Travis, Stuart and Lucinda, always so proud of their activities and accomplishments. He most recently cherished the time spent visiting his 7 great grandchildren Jordan, Cameron, Paislee, Kenzie, Hazel, Clara and Blythe.
Family meant everything to dad. He spent time with all of us, always interested in whatever we were doing. He recently enjoyed remembering the past, watching college football games, old western movies and having his martini until the end. He left us surrounded by the love of his grateful children, Rochelle and Gary Jurden of Eugene, Oregon, Kim and Jack Weleba of Arcadia, and Cam and Lori Luman of Glendora.
