William "Bill" Dyer, born on August 14, 1935, in Monrovia, California, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2026, at home in Claremont, California. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was marked by his deep love for family and friends.
Bill dedicated 38 years to a successful career in telecommunications, demonstrating a commitment to excellence that defined both his professional and personal life. A proud veteran of the United States Army, he earned the Sikorsky Valor Award, showcasing his dedication and service to his country.
Bill was known for his caring and loving nature, often described by those who knew him as a true friend and a handy individual who was always ready to lend a helping hand. He cherished the time spent with his family, particularly during the holidays when they gathered to create lasting memories together.
An avid fishing enthusiast, Bill found joy in the peaceful moments spent outdoors. His love for sports was evident, particularly his unwavering support for the Chicago Cubs, a team he followed because they were always the underdogs. He also looked forward to watching college football, sharing in the excitement and camaraderie that came with it. He loved being on the baseball field year after year as an assistant coach for many many years.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Janelle Dyer; his sons, Michael Dyer and wife Jennifer, Alan Dyer, and Randy Dyer; step-son Larry Lach and wife Molly Lach; step-daughter Sheri Gardner and husband Bobby Gardner; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Katie, Melissa, Patrick, Michael, Colin, Matthew, Tyler, Lexi, and Nathan, along with his great-grandchildren, Bella and Teddy.
A funeral service in honor of Bill will be held on February 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Live Oak Memorial Park in Monrovia, California. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the remarkable life of a truly wonderful man who touched the lives of many.
