William Copland Brooks

December 30, 1928 — November 29, 2012

William “Bill” Copland Brooks, age 83, passed away November 29, 2012 in Arcadia, CA. He was a US Army Veteran and Monrovia resident for 35 years. Bill was very active in his community and was generous in volunteering his time. He was a member of the Arcadia American Legion, the Monrovia VFW, and the Duarte Elks Lodge #1427 for over 25 years, 20 of which he was the trustee. Bill was known for his custom fishing rods, which he made for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Heather, and his son, Ian. Bill is survived by his wife, Betty Jean, and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, January 4 at Live Oak Memorial Park followed by a 2:30 PM memorial service at the Duarte Elks Lodge.
