Virginia Lima

Virginia Lima, a longtime resident of Arcadia, CA, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2023, at USC Arcadia Hospital with her family by her side. 

Virginia was born on September 14, 1927 to Jean and Catherine Jaureguy in Walnut, CA where she grew up with her five siblings.

Virginia married Paul J. Lima in 1947 and they were blessed with six children, Joseph (Mary Grace), Marilyn McNall (Steven), Debbie Hansen (James-deceased), Karen Moore (Stephen), Jim (Tracy) and Ken (Monique).

With a gracious and committed heart, Virginia was an active member of Annunciation Catholic Church.  She was a member of the bereavement ministry for many years and took on the responsibility of laundering and ironing the priest’s clerical garments. Church and family were her primary focus.  She was always full of energy and enjoyed good health.  Hosting large family gatherings well into her 80’s, Virginia created lasting traditions and memories that will live on in their hearts forever. Her 95 years were enriched with family and good friends.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, and brothers, Jean, Peter and Edward Jaureguy.  She is survived by her sisters Rose Handorf and Adele Jaureguy, her 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 am, on July 17, 2023, at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1307 E. Longden Ave., Arcadia, CA 91006.  The burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Rosemead.
