Tommie Ruth Robbins, born August 14, 1926 in Timpson, Texas. She was the youngest child and only daughter of Madie Bell and Earl Irvin Mayfield. She had three older brothers; Millard, Vernon, and Mike. They all grew up in East Texas. She met the love of her life, Homer, at Western Union in Houston and married on August 17, 1946 after a brief courtship. They moved to California in 1950 and settled in Monrovia to raise their four children; Madie, Carra, John, & Ruth. They joined the Olive Branch Church in Monrovia in the early 1980’s and made it their church home, faithfully serving for many years. After 56 years of marriage, Homer went to be with the Lord in 2002. She lover her family and church family very much and dedicated her life to serving them and others. Tommie passed away April 1, 2010 in Monrovia, California. She will be missed by her brother, Vernon Mayfield Children, Madie and Don Higgins, Carra Lee, John Robbins, and Ruth and Jim Rosenburgh. Grandchildren, Jeffrey and Tanya Higgins, Brian and Misty Higgins, Sarah Goodwin , and Kathryn “Casey” Carlin. Great Grandchildren, Candace Higgins, Alison Higgins, Audrey Higgins, and Elijah Higgins And all her nieces, nephews, friends and family and Christ Our Dearest Tommie: We will forever hold you in our hearts. We thank you for your faithfulness, love ,and prayers for this church body. You blessed each of us in amazing ways. You were the voice of reason among this group. We loved your laughter, your discipline, your rules, and your coffee! It was all good! You were the perfect example of an Elder who ministered to us with love, truth, and wisdom. We will miss you terribly, but know that this bunch is no match for His GLORY. So we rejoice until we meet again.
