Soledad Enez Hernandez

Soledad (Sally) Chavez-Hernandez was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was born on April 20, 1924, in Alamo Alto, Texas and at the age of 89 she passed into God's hands from natural causes April 18, 2014. She raised her children in Pasadena & Arcadia, and retired in Monrovia, California.
She was part Native American and Mexican.

She was a wonderful example of faith, hope. Charity, and strength. She had 4 brothers and 1 sister and was the surviving member of the Chavez family. She was a volunteer for Pasadena, Monrovia, and Duarte Senior Centers and in 2008 she was awarded "Volunteer of the Year" from the Senior Center association. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, singing and spending time with her friends, and family.

She is survived by her four children, Gracie Apodaca (Hernandez) Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Paul Steven Hernandez of Pasadena, Mario Blackwolf (Hernandez) of Rimrock Arizona, Michael Gabriel Hernandez of Baldwin Park, and David Carreon Sr. of Arcadia; 14 Grandchildren, and 20 Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son Thomas (Tommy Boy) Hernandez, and her four brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at Douglass & Zook Mortuary, Monrovia, California on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.
