Sam Zagorianos, 92, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family December 26, 2010. He was born June 13, 1918, in Weirton, West Virginia. He served in the US Army during WWII, and was honorably discharged. Sam was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Sam was active in the Greek community, and a member of Saint Sophia. He was 17th District Commander for the American Legion,and Commander of Leodaidas Post #285. He is survived by his wife Bertha, children, Marie (Robert) McPherson, Marsha Zagorianos, and Kathleen Zagorianos, grandchildren, John McPherson, Kristina (Chuck) Wilkerson, Athena McPherson and Angela Appleton. Eight special great grandchildren, with numerous nieces, nephews, and God children. Trisagion service will be Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 7:00pm, Funeral Services will be Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 10:30am, both held at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Interment, Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth, CA. Family is under the care of Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance Funeral Home (626) 358-3244.
