Russell Glenn Wienke

Russell "Russ" Wienke, a resident of Monrovia, California, passed away on December 22, 2019, at the age of 67. He was born in Iowa, on July 22, 1952.
Russ was a wonderful woodworker and a great designer of custom furniture and kitchen cabinets, as well as special orders. He loved working with painter/designer Joseph Summers of Culver City, California. He later became a certified termite inspector and enjoyed doing inspections because he loved talking to the customers and getting to know them.

Russ loved being silly and making people laugh with his quick wit and kind heart. He also loved dogs and was known as "the dog whisperer" in some circles. He and his wife ended up with three dogs because he was always saving homeless strays.

Russ was a great Dodgers fan and reveled in his baseball card collection which he especially loved telling stories about to his nephew, Cody. He loved the beach and was quite the surfer in his younger days, which could explain why his favorite place to visit was Hawaii. He was an avid dart thrower and shot on Monday nights with a traveling competitive team for several years along with his best friend Steve Paszek.

Russ is survived by Susan, his wife of 15 years, brothers Roger and Randy as well as a sister, Tari Wienke and let's not forget "his brother from another mother" Steve. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Marilyn Wienke, and brother Ron Wienke.

**There will be a funeral service on February 1, 2020, at 10:15 a.m. at Arcadia Bible Church, 4064 East Live Oak Avenue in Arcadia, and a gravesite service @ 12 pm immediately thereafter at Live Oak Cemetery, 200 East Duarte Road in Monrovia, California. All are welcome.
