Richard (Rick) B. Wood has passed away at the age of 78 on July 18, 2025.
He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to California in 1958.
Rick was a proud Marine and served his country in the Vietnam war. Recipient of many awards including two Purple Hearts. His second affiliation was being a member of the Masonic organizations. Both of those organizations were dear and near to his heart.
He met his wife, Kristi, in Orange County, California and they were married for 50 years. They were blessed with one daughter, Tabatha, one granddaughter, Amanda, one great grandson, Ethan and one great granddaughter, Evelyn.
Rick loved the outdoors, fly fishing, hunting, and raising his racing homing pigeons. He and Kristi loved to go back to Indiana where they were both originally from. Their fishing included Alaska, Mexico, Indiana and New Mexico. Rick even learned to tie his own flies.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rick on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Douglass & Zook Mortuary, 600 E. Foothill Blvd. Monrovia, California 91016. Reception to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, Rick's family has requested that donations be made to:
