Richard Donald Webb

Richard Donald Webb was born to Cecil and Marie Webb on February 10, 1926 in Cairo, Illinois. He graduated from high school in 1944 before serving as a Gunner in the Navy. He met Dorothy Lee Woods while visiting his aunt in Monrovia, California. They fell in love, and were married on June 28, 1946 in Pasadena, California. Dick and Dot resided in Monrovia for 30 years. During that time, Dick wore many hats. He was a movie projectionist and then later worked in construction for his father-in-law. He loved that career so much, that he began his own underground construction business. As the years passed, construction became difficult and retirement was not the answer. He found a security guard job in Newport Beach, California. It was his pure joy; he continued working until just two weeks ago. Dick and Dot moved to Laguna Hills in 1976. During their married life, they had three children, Rick, Kandy, and Kimberly who were married to Denise, Rick and Keith. Dick is survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 and a half great grandchildren. On June 28, 2010, Dick and Dot’s 64th wedding anniversary, Dick was diagnosed with terminal lung and bone cancer. On Friday July 9th, the Lord called to his side in the presence of his family. He will truly be missed and very much loved. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11:30 am. Both held at Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance. Burial to follow at Live Oak Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Dick's name to the American Cancer Society.
