Raymond Medina, a beloved master plater and business owner, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, in Monrovia, California. Born on June 26, 1942, Raymond was not only a skilled professional but also a man of warmth and compassion, known for his ever-present smile and his loving nature.
Raymond dedicated his life to his craft, building a successful career as a self-employed plater. His work was more than just a profession; it was an expression of his expertise. He took immense pride in what he did, always ensuring that his clients received the best quality service, a reflection of his meticulous attention to detail.
Family was central to Raymond's life. He shared a deep bond with his life partner, Rosemary Volosin, who stood by his side through life’s journey. Together, they created a love story filled with warmth, joy, and dance—a passion that brought them closer together.
Raymond is survived by his cherished siblings: Bernabé Medina, Antonio Medina, Jose Guadalupe Medina, Jr., and Gema Medina-Ramirez. These bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood were forged through shared experiences and unwavering support, testament to the close-knit family values that Raymond held dear.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alice Medina, and their daughter, Alice Medina Kaplan. Their loss is deeply felt by those who knew them, creating a void that will forever echo in the hearts of family and friends. Raymond is also reunited in spirit with his father, Jose Guadalupe Medina, Sr., and his mother, Feliciana Medina, who nurtured a kind soul with strong values and a love for family.
Raymond's life will be honored at a Funeral Service held at Douglass & Zook - Chapel of the Foothills in Monrovia, CA, on April 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM with a viewing followed by a service and graveside service at Rose Hills in Whittier. As family and friends gather, they will remember him not only for his contributions as a master plater but for the countless ways he touched their lives.
In remembering Raymond, we celebrate a life rich with love, laughter, and compassion. His legacy will live on in the memories shared, the stories told, and the dance steps taken in his honor.
