McCARVILLE - Raymond V. McCarville, 85, passed away September 21, 2010. A long time resident of Monrovia, Ray, often worked hand-in-hand on many community and church events with his beloved wife and life-time sweetheart, Phyllis, who preceded him in death in 2004. Ray was a WWII veteran in the South Pacific, he later became the President of the So. Calif. Chapter of the 1st Cavalry Division. He was also Monrovia’s, “Senior Volunteer of the Year,” and he had been a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Gad-a-Bouts, and the Monrovia Old Cats. He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Marsha McCarville; son and his wife, Michael & Mara McCarville; sister, Mary Ruth McCarville, and his grandchildren, Justin, Shane & Katie. Visitation hours 1-4 PM on Sunday, Sept. 26 with a Vigil Service at 2 PM will both be held at the Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance in Monrovia. Funeral Mass at 12 Noon on Monday at the Immaculate Conception Church in Monrovia. Care entrusted to Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance Funeral Home in Monrovia (626-358-3244).
