Raymond H. Brown

December 2, 1919 - February 28, 2012 Raymond H. Brown was born on December 2, 1919 in Edmond, Oklahoma. He was one of seven children born to Thomas and Sirenie Brown. He leaves behind three daughters - Melinda Brown (Monrovia, CA), Cecelia Taylor (Ojai, CA), and Kathy Aragon (Albuquerque, NM). He has one son, Ray Schmidt, (Fairfield, CA). He also had twelve grandchildren. His wife, Evelyn Brown, passed away ten years ago. Raymond was a nurseryman/landscape contractor who owned and operated a retail and a wholesale nursery. He was a member of the California Association of Nurserymen. His home has won numerous awards for being beautifully landscaped. Raymond loved sharing plant knowledge with neighbors and guests at his home. His daughter, Melinda, was at his bedside during his passing. Raymond died from lung complications due to pneumonia. His presence will be greatly missed in the community of Monrovia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 10th at Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance Funeral Home, located at 600 E. Foothill Blvd, Monrovia, CA 91016. Servic will begin at 11:00 A.M., which precedes the reception at the Monrovian Restaurant, located at 534 S. Myrtle Ave. in Monrovia at 12:30 P.M.
