Nella (Nicky) N. Kilgore was born February 5, 1923 in Taunton, Massachusetts, to Carlyle and Margaret de Suze. Her father passed while she was in her late teens. Wanting a better life for Nicky, her mother sent her to Los Angeles, CA to stay with a family friend to pursue a nursing career. She met and married Ernest Kilgore on January 1, 1943 and moved to Monrovia, CA. Deciding nursing was not for her, she found employment at Lockheed as an electrical programmer in 1951. She retired in 1982 for a total of 32 years with Lockheed. Nicky was very active in community affairs. She served many years with the City of Hope as a fund raiser on the bake sale committee, she also helped to decorate the City of Monrovia float for the Rose Parade, was a member of the Monrovia Gad-A Bouts. Nicky was active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 36 years were she received many awards and accommodations. She was also a member of the International Association of Machinist. Nicky and Ernest enjoyed the good life, camping and fishing all over the USA, Mexico and Canada, but divorced after 17 years of marriage. She then met and married Charles I. Bolden and they were together until his death in 1967. She later remarried Ernest Kilgore in 1968 and was married until his death in 1991. Nicky made a change in her life and moved to La Verne, CA to a Mobile Home Park that brought her 2 more friends in Clyde and Donna Evans who were her next door neighbors. Her family sends a special thank you for all the support and true friendship in helping her in her final years. Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 12 noon at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier. Gate 1 Primrose Lawn. Nicky’s brother Carlyle predeceased her. She is survived by his wife Grethe de Suze; nieces Samantha de Suze and Alexandra (Jeff) de Suze and grand nephew Benjamin; cousins Ann (William) Roberts and Joe Hicks. Nicky is also survived by her late husband Charles Bolden’s children Shirley Stewart, Jerry and Charles Bolden and a host of family and friends. There will never be another you, Your Loving Family
