Nancy M. Monson

In Loving Memory of Nancy M. Monson Nancy left this world on August 30, 2010. She was born July 24, 1928 at Rices Maternity Hospital in Los Angeles to Harold Hostmark Granrud and Edith Rowley. Nancy grew up in San Marino was a member of D.A.R., Delta Kappa Gamma, Eastern Star and was PHQ of Job’s Daughters. Nancy attended South Pasadena/San Marino High School, Stephen’s College (MO) where she pledged Delta Gamma and SMU (TX). While working in the insurance industry, she met and married Bob. After her children were born Nancy went into teaching and attended USC for her Master’s in Education. She taught in PUSD for 30 years and worked 17 years part time for H & R Block. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert S. Monson, daughters Tracy R. Wilke (Dave) and Terry Monson (Ernie Diaz) and two grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Diaz. A Memorial Service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 11 will be held at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior, 535 W. Roses Rd. in San Gabriel. In lieu of flowers we would appreciate any donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in Mom’s name. Care entrusted to the Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance Funeral Home in Monrovia.
