Michael Keogh Sheehan

Michael K. Sheehan, devoted husband of Genevieve Smith Sheehan and loving father of Jack Robert Sheehan, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Michael, born in Albany, NY, on November 17, 1963, is the son of Anne Sheehan and the late J. Robert Sheehan. In addition to his wife, son, and mother, he is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Maura (John) Barrett, Sean (Tina) Sheehan, Teige (Rebecca) Sheehan, and Siobhan (Travis) Rosencranse. He is also survived by Genevieve's parents Kathy and Don Smith, and her sisters, Megan (Thomas) McGuane and Elizabeth (Brendan) McTear, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Michael was a graduate of The College of Saint Rose, Albany, NY, and received his Master of Fine Arts from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, California. He was an Editing faculty member at AFI at the time of his passing, an avocation that befitted his boundless enthusiasm for all aspects of film, and the enjoyment of movies as art and entertainment. Everyone who knew Michael attests that he was one of the most kind-hearted, jovial, and passionate people they would ever encounter, and his exceptionally quick and clever wit made the world a happier place.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial mass on Saturday, November 3, at 9 AM, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Delmar, NY. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions in Michael's memory to the National MS Society.
