Michael David Drysdale

Michael David Drysdale, 71, born on January 26, 1947, in Long Beach, California, passed away February 7, 2018. Michael was the son of Myron and Sylvia Drysdale and a longtime resident of Pasadena, California. He attended Temple City Schools from kindergarten through high school, Class of 1964. He liked school and his classmates. While attending Oak Avenue Jr. High he developed an interest in playing the string bass and eventually the electric bass. He also played trumpet in the marching band. Music and dancing were his great pleasures. In 1966 Michael was drafted into the US Army and served with the 4th Infantry Division in Vietnam. After his discharge, he enrolled in the Electrical Program at Los Angeles Trade Tech and graduated in 1976. Following in his father's footsteps, he apprenticed with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 11. Michael was proud of the electrical work he did on various projects for LADWP, the Metro Red and Gold Lines, and other facilities throughout Los Angeles County. Michael was an active member of VFW Post 3208 and served as chaplain. His fellow VFW comrades conducted a Celebration of Life on February 17, 2018 at Live Oak Memorial Park, Monrovia, California. Michael is survived by his sister Crystal of Temple City and his brother Frank and sister-in-law Margaret of New Mexico. Arrangements were under the direction of Douglass & Zook Funeral and Cremation Services, Monrovia, California.
