Maryly Kay Charles, 52, passed away May 7, 2010. An elementary school teacher for over 17 years, Maryly taught kindergarten at Bethany Christian School in Sierra Madre for seven years, then fourth grade at Pasadena Christian School. Beyond her work she was an active member of Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, and one who treasured her beloved family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Douglas; her daughter, Jessica and her fiancé, Drew Coffin; a son, Jacob and his wife, Angela; brother, Greg Thorson; sister, Gay Thorson, and her mother-in-law, Bea Charles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anabel & Ted Thorson; father-in-law, Paul Charles, and sister, Lynda. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 16 at Pasadena Christian School. Contributions may be made in her memory to “Doug Charles” noting for “Maryly’s Dream Fulfillment Fund" or to Pasadena Christian School. Care entrusted to the Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance, 600 E. Foothill Blvd. in Monrovia.
