Marie Frances Oliva died November 16, 2017 in Arcadia, CA. "Ree" was born August 20, 1926 in New Rochelle, NY to Italian immigrants. Having lived in the Arcadia, CA area since 1950, she was a teacher of brass musical instruments, primarily trumpet. A Lieutenant Colonel in Civil Air Patrol, she formed and was the commander of Squadron 11 of Arcadia. In 2015 she was awarded a Congressional Gold Metal honoring civilian volunteers of Civil Air Patrol during World War II. She is survived by loving family and friends in New York, Connecticut, California and Hawaii. Services will be at Holy Angels Church in Arcadia on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM.
