Maria Servigon Tong

Maria Servigon Tong, 79, born in China, passed away on May 19, 2022. At the time of her passing she was residing in Hacienda Heights, Ca. She was married to the late Colonel Roberto Shu Cheng. She is survived by her children: Ginger McIntosh, Yvonne Shu Rodriguez and Roberto Shu Servigon; 8 Grandchildren: Eduardo, Amanda, Diana, Marcelo, Johana, Adrian, Roberto and Leonardo; 4 great-grandchildren: Alex, Mila, Max and Benjamin and 2 siblings: Vicente and Rosa. Maria emigrated with her parents at a very young age to Ecuador where she lived until 2 years ago.
She was a woman of courage and values. With her dedication she brought up her family. She is an inspiration for the family that survives her. Always enthusiastic and a hard worker, who did not give up in the face of adversity. She had a word of encouragement for everyone. Together with her husband she founded the oldest and most renowned Chinese food restaurant, Restaurant Joun Yep, which this year celebrates 50 years of uninterrupted service. She received several awards in recognition of her culinary talent. Today we celebrate her legacy and her family is more than ever committed on keeping it.
The service to celebrate such a successful and full life will be held on Saturday, June 25 from 4:30 to 8:00 pm. Later she will be transferred to Guayaquil, Ecuador in order to receive Christian burial next to her husband.

Maria Servigon Tong de Shu de 79, nacida en China, falleció el 19 de Mayo de 2022. Al momento de su fallecimiento residía en Hacienda Heights, Ca. Estuvo casada con el fallecido Coronel Roberto Shu Cheng. Le sobreviven sus hijos: Ginger McIntosh, Yvonne Shu Rodriguez y Roberto Shu Servigon; 8 Nietos: Eduardo, Amanda, Diana, Marcelo, Johana, Adrian, Roberto y Leonardo; 4 bisnietos: Alex, Mila, Max y Benjamín y 2 hermanos: Vicente y Rosa. Maria emigró junto a sus padres a muy corta edad a Ecuador. Donde vivió hasta hace 2 años.
Fue una mujer de gran tezon y valores. Con su sacrificio y dedicación sacó adelante a su familia. Una mujer que con su ejemplo es la inspiración de la familia que le sobrevive. Siempre entusiasta y luchadora, quien no se rindió ante las adversidades. Tenía una palabra de aliento para todos. Junto con su esposo fundó el más antiguo y reconocido restaurante de comida china, Restaurant Joun Yep, que este año cumple 50 años de servicio ininterrumpido. Recibió diversos galardones en reconocimiento a su gran talento culinario. Hoy celebramos su legado y su familia más que nunca está comprometida a guardarlo.
El servicio para celebrar una vida tan exitosa y llena se realizará el sábado 25 de Junio de 4:30 a 8:00 pm. Posteriormente será trasladada a Guayaquil, Ecuador a fin de recibir cristiana sepultura junto a su esposo.
