Marguerite Celestine Barre was born on April 1, 1917 as the fourth child of Sidney and Mathilde Barre in Lucy LA. She joined her parents, sister Cecile and brothers Lionel and Milton on August 23, 2010. Her sister Irma is living in New Orleans, LA. She was married to Roland Edwin Rousseve on February 25, 1935 for 63 years before his passing and together they had eight children. She is preceded by Barbara, Roland and Sheila and survived by Ronald, Sybil, Adrienne, Margo and Keith, twenty four grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and 2 and 1/2 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, in-laws, cousins and many, many friends. She worked many years as a seamstress and created beautiful wedding gowns. She was an excellent 'Creole' cook who loved to travel, enjoyed gambling and 'Bingo'. Small in stature, she was gregarious and always enjoyed sharing southern hospitality and having a having a 'little smile' with family and friends. Marguerite lived a full life and shared many good times and loving memories. She will be missed." Visitation will be on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 6:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm both at Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 10:30 am at Saints Felicitas & Perpetua Catholic Church in San Marino with burial to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
