Manuel Navarro, was born on April 17, 1920 in Los Angeles, CA and passed away on December 24, 2009. Manuel was born the 13th child out of 15 to Jesus and Refugio Navarro. In WWII he was in the US Army 411th Engineer Battalion where he served in New Guinea and Australia. He was stationed in New Bedford, OR. He worked for the US Postal Service and he was a civil service examiner. Manuel was a member of St. Peter & St. Paul Catholic Church in Alta Loma, The Elks Club and N.A.R.F.E. Manuel never had children but he was Godfather to many. Manuel was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Laura, who also passed away on Christmas Eve of 2002. He leaves behind his sisters Carmen Navarro and Armandina Centurioni; his brother Albert Navarro and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at 6:00pm followed by Rosary and vigil at 7:00pm at St. Peter & St. Paul Catholic Church, 9135 Banyan St., Alta Loma, CA 91737. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2009 at 10:00am at St. Peter & St. Paul Catholic Church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Donations can be made in Manuel’s memory to Mary’s Mercy Center, PO Box 7563, San Bernardino, CA 92411.
