Lorraine Stella Applerose

Lorraine Stella Kennedy Applerose was born on December 26, 1928 in Los Angeles at the French Hospital and passed away on May 18, 2011 in Montebello. She was the third child born to Bill and Stella (Martin) Kennedy and she grew up in Boyle Heights. She attended St. Mary's and graduated from Catholic Girls High (Conity). Lorraine was one of the original employees at the Commerce Casino, were she was a hostess. She was also a hostess at the Luminarias Restaurant for many years as well as Brandy's in Commerce and Steven's Steak House. She was a Loving Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt and friend who loved dancing, parties and family. She will be truly missed by all. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Bill and Jack and her husband Al. Lorraine is survived by her sons Al (Barbara) and Don (Lori); her grandchildren Kelli, Dani, Josh & Matt and her sister Barbara and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on May 25, 2011 at 5:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm both at Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Montebello on May 26, 2011 at 10:30 am with burial to follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
