Lillian Peterson

Lillian Rose Peterson was the daughter of Peter and Mary Savchenko. She was born on the family farm in North Dakota on February 1, 1925, becoming the 5th child in a family of 6.

Lillian attended grade school and graduated from High School in Makoti, ND. Lillian went on to attend College in Tennessee graduating with education and music degrees.

Alvin Peterson married Lillian in Minot, ND on July 15, 1949. They moved to the family farm where their sons Dean and Tulane were born. A severe hailstorm redirected their lives and their journey west began. This journey led them briefly to Montana and then finally to California, where they raised their family for almost 30 years.

In San Jose, CA Lillian applied her teaching and music talents in both education and church communities – where she worked and served for many years. She loved to coordinate and present Christmas Music Programs every year at both school and church gatherings.

Alvin and Lillian were involved in the Christian Life Advance ministry at Foothill Christian Center for 20 years. After retirement in 1983 they moved to Bismarck, ND and enjoyed many years of involvement with Primetime Seniors Ministry at Evangel Temple. On July 14, 2007, Alvin and Lillain established their new home next door to their son Tulane in Arcadia, CA. Alvin fought a long battle with Parkinson’s and completed his life journey December 24, 2007. Lillian continued to live in Arcadia near Tulane for another 18 years.

Lillian peacefully completed her earthly journey on December 9, 2025.
