Leo Sirakides, 80, passed away on March 9, 2011 in Santa Monica, CA. Leo was born in Bronx, N.Y. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree at New York University. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, then taught business at Glen Ridge H.S. in New Jersey. He moved to California in 1956 and taught business at Harbor Junior College, was Dean of Instruction at LA City College, and finished his career as Professor at Pierce College in San Fernando Valley. Leo was a loving brother to Chris and Dino (Helen) Sirakides, Uncle to Greg (Robin) Sirakides, Christine (C.E.) Thorne, Helen Sirakides, Nicola Sirakides, Keith Drennen, Mair (Rich) Hill, Dean (Dianna) Sirakides and proud Great Uncle to Nick, Harry, James, Jack, Alex, Andrew, Christopher and Steven. Visitation: Sunday, March 13th 6-8pm, Trisagion Service will be 7:00pm held at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1324 S. Normandie Ave, Los Angeles (Between 15th and Pico), Funeral Service Monday March 14th at 10:30am at St. Sophia. (Ph: 323-737-2424).
