Lawrence Eugene Marino

Lawrence "Larry" Eugene Marino passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 26, 2022; he was 77. Larry was born in Torrington, CT, to Connie and Theodore Marino. After graduating from Pasadena High School in 1964, Larry worked in the garment industry. He then entered the printing business, first working for the Federal government, then ultimately as a Vice President for Subia Graphics in Hawthorne. Larry started his pool business, Caliber Pools, in 1988 and expanded it into a thriving, successful corporation, servicing hundreds of pools (including institutional pools and fountains) and building custom pools and large-scale water park rides. Larry designed and shared with friends, family, and non-profit charities, his resort-style backyard river with rapids, which also had a synchronized water fountain and light show.

Larry met his sweet wife, Nelva, at Huntington Beach and they were married in February 2021. Other than his family and friends, Larry's great loves were traveling, spending time at his cabin in Southern Utah, his Italian heritage, and the Miami Dolphins. Larry will most be remembered for his immense generosity, commitment to his community, lifelong creativity and skilled craftsmanship, and his loveable sense of humor.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Nelva; mother, Connie; son, Chris; grandsons: James and Ethan; his brother, Bruno; and former wife, Tina Eing (mother of Chris). He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore; sister, Elaine; and former wives, Lisa Magno and Susan Cloud.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 21, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (726 S. Shamrock Ave, Monrovia, CA). Interment to follow at Oakdale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the City of Hope Cancer Research Center in honor of Larry.
