Kenneth James Player

March 23, 1957 — February 28, 2014

Kenneth (Kenny) James Player was born to the proud parents of Johnnie Player & Luzzell Wise on March 23, 1957 in Los Angeles, California. Kenny was the third of five brothers. Kenny was raised in Duarte & Monrovia CA with his mother and four brothers. There he attended Andres Duarte Elementary School, Santa Fe Middle School and Monrovia High School, and graduated from Mt. Olive Continuation High School in 1975.

While growing up, Kenny enjoyed playing baseball & football. At the age of 16, Kenny started working for Kaiser Permanente In Irwindale, CA. With the proceeds from this job, Kenny bought his first car, a white 1966 Chevy Impala. This was the car of his dreams, he had it painted pearl white with the blue diamond tuck interior. Kenny had several other jobs including working for Ronson manufacturing Co. where he helped build the landing gear for the Air Forces SR71 Blackhawk Spy Plane.

Kenny was very active in the lives of all of his nieces & nephews, he was the favorite uncle and brother by far. Kenny was well known in the community. If you traveled on Duarte Rd. there was a strong possibility that you would see Kenny either going or coming from the store with his newspaper and "refreshments".lol
Kenny was a loving brother, uncle, cousin and friend to all of us, I can just see him now in Heaven sitting under a tree with his newspaper.

Kenny leaves to cherish in his memory, three brothers, Leonard Player, Arthur player, Wendell Player, (Empress, Mary, Tiauna & Tiara) 6 Nieces, Tishandra Merriweather, (Alan) Tavia Hardy, Empress Player, Mary Williams, Tiauna Asamoah, Tiara Keith, 3 Great-Nephews, Andrew Harris, Matthew Johnson and Zion Floyd, 9 Great-Nieces, Artiya Gillard, Artavia Gillard, Zariah McCollum, Mariah Johnson, Kamora Merriweather, Tajae Keith, Michaela Keith, Lydia Keith and Cree Keith, 2 aunts, Phignora Brown of Las Vegas, NV. & Celia Mae Ivey of Duarte, CA. 1 God Son Ray Bullock Jr. and a host of cousins and friends.
