Julianne Kiley Theiring

August 6, 1933 — May 19, 2009

Julianne Kiley Theiring August 6, 1933 - May 19, 2009 Our beloved mother of John, Jane and Jim, mother-in-law of Ruth, Jeff and Susan, grandmother to John and Ruth’s children Robert, Kiley and Liam, Jane and Jeff’s children Sullivan and Cassidy, Jim and Susan’s children Molly, Shaun and Emily and wife of Pete, passed away on Tuesday, May 19th, 2009 in Arcadia, California. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister Virginia Holtman and is survived by her brother Richard Kiley. Julie was born on August 6th, 1933 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Lee and Margaret Kiley where she grew up as part of a family of 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Julie graduated from the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing with a BSN. On June 1st, 1957 she was united in marriage to John William Theiring. The Theirings moved from Cincinnati to Wexford Pennsylvania in 1963 and then in1974 made the journey to Southern California. After the untimely death of her husband John in 1977, she married Pete Thavibhoka in 1983. Julie was a dedicated wife, mother and nurse. She was a “nurse’s nurse” and spent over 45 years of her life serving and caring for other people. She was a very compassionate person with a love of life, family and friends. Her strong will and sharp wit enabled her to persevere through the difficult times and embrace the good times. She made friends easily and was a good friend to have. Her strength and sense of humor gave hope and inspiration to those around her. She was a great cook who loved having her family together to share her delicious meals. Always the avid shopper, she was constantly on the prowl for a bargain or sale. The world was a better place with her in it and today Irish Eyes sadly say “Good bye” to a one-of-a-kind. The Funeral Mass for Julie will be held at Incarnation Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 27th at 10:00am, 1001 North Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA. 91202 In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Julianne Theiring’s name to: Pasadena Humane Society 361 S.
