Judith Ann Hartwich, age 71, of Pasadena, CA passed away suddenly on January 13, 2021 in Pasadena, CA as the result of a stroke. Judy is the daughter of Carl and Catherine (Barry) Hartwich. She was born and raised in Newton, MA.
Judy is survived by her brother Carl Hartwich and his life-partner Virginia Grant of Berlin, MA. Three nieces Tara Hartwich, Janet Heffernan, and Patricia Brown. An uncle Hollis Smith. Very close friends Ron and Suzie Cyger. As well as many cousins and close friends.
Judy was pre-deceased by a half sister Barbara Salvucci.
She was a graduate of UMASS/Amherst and did post graduate work at schools in California achieving a Masters Degree.
She had a 33 year career at USC where she recently retired from her position as Senior Associate Director, Office of International Services where her passion was helping students in crisis.
Judy was a volunteer guide at The Huntington Library, Art Museum and Botanical Gardens where she spent many hours enjoying the beauty of the grounds.
She enjoyed hiking and reading. Hiking in the Arroyo Grande area was one of her favorite things to do. She was an avid collector of books and owned an impressive collection. She also loved music and art.
Judy was a kind and caring person who lived her personal and professional life helping others in need.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Douglass & Zook Funeral and Cremation Services, Monrovia, California.
