Joyce Beryl (Sisto) Butler, 69 of Arcadia, CA, died peacefully at home on May 24, 2025, after a long battle with MS, with the love of her life, her devoted husband of 35 years, Jay Butler, by her side.

Joyce “Joy” (as her Mom always called her) will be forever remembered and greatly missed by her large loving family and her many friends.

Joyce was born in Queens, NY on February 5, 1956 to Ernest Sisto Jr. (1928-2019) & Elizabeth (Pollard) Sisto (1932-2016) of NY, VA, & VT. She grew up in Lynbrook, LI with her four siblings Russell Sisto (Cathy & daughter Breezy) of NJ, Lauren (Sisto) Smith (Gary) of VT, Ernest A. Sisto of TX, Janice (Sisto) Cairns (Bill) & their daughter, Jessi Cairns of VA.

Joyce leaves a legacy of love behind with her daughters, Elizabeth, Leslie and Lindsey and her grandchildren Jacob, Scarlett, Ariella, Aaliyah, Nyla, Nia and Jade. 

Joyce is lovingly remembered by her sisters-in-law Wilma Jordan (Ronald), Wanda Maiden Green (Rodney), her nephew Ron Jr., and niece Jenna, seventeen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, who will continue to cherish her memory and honor her legacy.

She leaves her Aunt Madelyn & Uncle Tony, Uncle Chuck & Aunt Betty, Uncle Buster & Aunt Evie, Uncle Jimmy & Aunt Linda, seventeen 1st cousins, their spouses, children & grandchildren from her Mom’s family, four 1st cousins, several 2nd cousins, their spouses, children and grandchildren from her Dad’s family, and her former sister-in-law, Alex Wolf of NY. 

Joyce was also predeceased by her Grandparents, Charles & Matilda (Pfaffhauser) Pollard, a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, and her Grandfather, Ernest Ludwig Sisto, an award-winning NY Times Photographer from 1923-1972 & Grandmother Amelia (Rice) Sisto.
