JOSE LUIS CISNEROS was born on October 26, 1961, at the former French Hospital in Los Angeles to Luis Cancino Cisneros and Frances Hernandez Torres Cisneros. He was the second child in what would later become a family of eight.

He grew up surrounded by aunts, uncles, and cousins in Pico Rivera, spending most summers in Morelia, Michoacán, and Tijuana, Mexico. Louie attended Bernie and Valencia Elementary Schools, Rivera Junior High, and graduated from El Rancho High School in 1979.

A talented athlete and standout soccer player, Louie attended Cal State Long Beach on scholarship before marrying Deborah Avalos, with whom he had a son they called “Little Louie.” Years later, it was Deborah who would introduce Louie to Heather—an introduction that would change both their lives.

Louie was an avid sports fan who would watch just about any game that was televised, always cheering on his 1961 (f.k.a. California) Angels, the (f.k.a. St. Louis) Rams, and his beloved UCLA Bruins. His travels always brought him back to Cancún, Mexico—a destination he visited more than 30 times—often inviting friends and family to tag along. Wherever he went, his charm and enthusiasm made him the life of the party.

Louie and Heather met in 1997 and married in 2001. They welcomed their daughter, Meagan Diane, in 2009. When Meagan was three, the family settled in Monrovia, where Louie—in his signature tank tops and shorts—quickly became a familiar face around town and at Meagan’s soccer games.

In his professional life, Louie was known as the friendly guy in the FedEx shirt and shorts. Over more than 40 years with the company, he built countless friendships and earned deep respect for his dedication and professionalism, retiring in October of 2024.

Louie leaves behind his wife, Heather; their beloved daughter, Meagan; his mother, Frances; and his siblings Josie (Tony), Juan, Maria (Mark) LaFavre, Rose Del Valle, Mark (Bridget) Cisneros, and Monica (Mario) Ledesma, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Louis, and his father, Luis, who were, no doubt, waiting to welcome him home to heaven.

Louie was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him—his laughter, warmth, and sense of humor will be deeply missed.
