John Evangelos Galanis

December 21, 1927 — September 27, 2010

John Evangelos Galanis, 82, passed away peacefully with his family at his side in West Covina, CA. He was born in Brockton, Massachusetts to Evangelos and Paraskeve Galanis. John was an active member of Saint Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church in Pasadena, CA, also a former President of the Church. He was a member of the American legion. He is survived by his loving daughters, Patricia Johnson and her husband Jefferson, and Paula Keller and her husband Clarence. Five grandchildren; Brenden, Blake, Brad, Nicole, and Tyler. John is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtice Galanis. A Trisagion service will be Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 7:00pm. Funeral Services will be the following day, Friday, October 1, 2010 at 10:00am; both held at Saint Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church, 588 North Rosemead Blvd. Pasadena, CA. Interment will follow at Rose hills, where John will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife.
