Jessie Luera Fonseca, life long resident of Duarte, passed away December 2, 2012 at home surrounded by her family. She was 92. She was born February 4, 1920 to Norberto and Tiburcia Luera in Rocktown, Duarte and wed May 25, 1946 to Tony Fonseca in Monrovia. Jessie began working as a housekeeper at age 16. During World War II, she served our country by working as a riveter at the Douglas Aircraft Plant in Long Beach. Jessie worked in several manufacturing companies on the assembly line and as a seamstress. In the 70s, she assembled pens for Anja Engineering Corp. In the 70s and 80s, she worked and retired from Rain Bird Corporation. After retirement she continued to work in housekeeping until she was 85. Jessie is survived by her children, Anthony, Rosanne, Lorinda, Tammy Granados, and Tim; grandchildren, Georgiane, Marcos, Michael, Marissa, Tahisha, Jacqie, Annette, Zachary, Adrian, Alex, Garrett, Jessica, and Tyler; and great-grandchildren, Juliette, Joey, Emilia, Eemeli. She was preceded into eternal peace by siblings, Felix, Teresa, Soledad, Gavino, and Jack; husband, Tony; and beloved daughter, Jennifer Zamora. The viewing will be held at Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance in Monrovia, Sunday, December 9 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM with a rosary at 5:00 PM. Funeral services will be Monday, December 10, 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Monrovia followed by the burial at Live Oak Memorial Park.
