Jeanette Elizabeth Parson

Jeanette Elizabeth (Haver) Parson (1924-2017) was born on August 19 to George and Betty Haver in Pasadena, CA.. Jeanette went to school in Pasadena, finishing with an Associate of Arts Degree in Music at Pasadena Junior College in 1944. Jeanette sang in various choirs and loved playing the piano. Jeanette joined the Navy in 1944 as a member of the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES), served in the Navy's District Personnel Office in San Francisco and received an Honorable Discharge in 1946. Jeanette was then active at the Naval Reserve in Pasadena, CA. from 1946 to 1950. In 1950 Jeanette returned to active duty in San Diego, CA. at the Personnel Accounting Machine Installation (PAMI) and was honorably discharged again in 1952. During Jeanette's service in the Navy she proudly rose to the rank of Yeoman 1st Class. Jeanette was married at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Pasadena. Jeanette is survived by her loving children Christopher Parson and wife Kathy, Elizabeth Smith and husband Carl, Catherine Parson and Jennifer Parson; grandchildren Erica Williams, Jeffrey Parson, Nikki Parson, Andrew Parson and Tyree Smith and 5 great-grandchildren. Jeanette survived her beloved Sister, Georgette Mareina and eldest Son, Timothy Parson. Jeanette lived a full life of service through the U.S. Navy, as a homemaker, through her Parish, and community volunteerism. Jeanette was a passionate benefactor to Catholic, Veteran, and equine charities. Jeanette was beloved by many and will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be held at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Altadena, CA. on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10am. Details of the reception will be announced during Funeral services.
