Howard Martin Rubin, age 94, of Sierra Madre, California, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026.
Howard lived a long and meaningful life marked by dedication, curiosity, and quiet kindness. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was stationed overseas in England, where he met his beloved wife Jacqueline—a moment that would shape the course of his life.
Following his service, Howard built a career as an accountant for the City of Los Angeles, where he was known for his diligence and reliability. Beyond his profession, he had a remarkable memory and a deep passion for history, especially trains, and could recall detailed facts and stories with ease.
Howard had a special love for cats and found joy in their companionship. He was a man of the Jewish faith, and his values and traditions remained an important part of his life.
He is survived by his daughter, Beverly Goldrup, who will carry forward his memory with love.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Sierra Madre Pioneer Cemetery.
Howard will be remembered for his sharp mind, gentle spirit, and the many stories he shared. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Pasadena Humane Society in his name would be appreciated. "Flowers die but a contribution to the Pasadena Humane Society can help some poor animal." -Howard M. Rubin
