Hermine Bafiera

Hermine Albine Bafiera, 79, affectionately known as Mina, passed away on August 16th, 2024. She resided in Duarte, CA at the time of her passing. 

Hermine was born to Catarina and Albine Matko on November 8th, 1944 in Mureck, Austria and was the eldest of 3 siblings (Irene Matko and Daniel Matko).

Hermine’s love extended to her four children, Catherine (Ann) Riley, Leslie (Marie) Riley, Christopher (Edward) Bafiera, and Natalie (Danielle) Bafiera, who remember her as a strong, hard-working, adventurous woman full of life, with a sense of humor and always ready with a comforting word. Her four grandchildren Kevin, Sophia, Jasper, and Zoey, will carry her legacy of hard-work, creativity, inquisitive nature, and love of travel.

‍She was an avid gardener, master of Chinese Checkers, animal lover, excellent cook and absolutely adored spending time with family and friends. 

A Vigil to honor and celebrate the life of Hermine Albine Bafiera will be held on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024 at Zook & Douglas Funeral and Cremation Services in Monrovia CA from 5:30-9pm and a Mass will be held on Thursday, August 29th, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church in Monrovia CA at 10am.

Hermine Albine Bafiera will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her.
