Helen Mary Woodcock, passed away on July 28, 2011 after a long illness. Helen was born in San Diego on October 2, 1925, and she been a teacher in California for over 53 years, with 22 years as principal at St. Rita School in Sierra Madre. After retirement Helen volunteered at Santa Teresita Hospital in Duarte and worked part-time at the St. Rita’s parish rectory. A Vigil Service at 7:00 PM on Monday, August 8, will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church in Sierra Madre, and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday also at St. Rita’s. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to St. Rita School, and/or, The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Brentwood, CA. Care entrusted to the Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance FH in Monrovia.
