Gordon William Boen

Gordon William Boen, 70, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2020, at Loma Linda University Hospital in Murrieta, CA. He was born August 7, 1949 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of William Melvin and Betty Joyce (Kilde) Boen.

Gordon graduated from Monrovia High School, Class of 1967. Sports were an integral part of his life. In high school, Gordon played and lettered in football, baseball, and track and field. Following graduation, Gordon attended Citrus College where he continued to play football and baseball. In 1969, Gordon attended San Diego State where he played football. In 1972, Gordon married Janet Elaine Davis and together they had three children, Kyle Gordon Boen (1976), Trevor William Boen (1979), and Eric Benjamin Boen (1980-1982). They remained married for 10 years. In 2008, Gordon met and married Rossana Boyd. Together they enjoyed ten years and resided in Hemet, CA. After separating, Gordon met Jennie Cheng. Gordon and Jennie became good friends and would often go on road trip adventures together and had plans to move to Lake Tahoe later this year. Jennie was by Gordon's side until he died.

Gordon enjoyed family get togethers, movies, the mountains, and boating in Lake Havasu. He was a born entrepreneur and derived satisfaction when he reasoned and developed solutions to problems. Most days you could find him watching his beloved grandchildren playing sports. He loved to be at the baseball/softball and football fields cheering on his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing coach and always offered tips to his grandchildren. He was a devoted Grandfather.

One of Gordon's best assets was his desire to help others. If someone was in need, he would step in and help in any way he could. Everyone counted on Gordon. If you needed help, you knew who to call, Gordon. He was a loving source for family and friends and will be sorely missed by all.

In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by his son, Eric Benjamin Boen. He is survived by his sons, Kyle Boen and his wife Olivia of Alta Loma CA, Trevor Boen and his wife Meagan of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Gordon is survived by his siblings, brother Gary Boen and his wife Barbara of Upland, CA and his sister Deborah DeBiase and her husband Tony of Corona, CA, Uncles Rodney Kilde and his wife Eileen of Covina CA, Clinton Kilde and his wife Lindy of Moorhead MN, six grandchildren Emily, Eric, Colin, Cade, Bryce and Ashton, his ex-wife Janet Pace, his wife Rossana Boen, and his loving companion, Jennie Cheng, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held in Big Bear Lake, CA.
