George Swift

July 24, 1932 — January 24, 2025

George Richard Swift, 92, was born at home, in Port Huron, Michigan, on July 24th, 1932. He was the second child born to Rev. Reed Andrew Swift and Ruth Amelia Howison Swift. George spent his growing up years in Michigan, Louisiana, Arizona and Southern California. He felt God’s call on his life, to become a pastor, when he was 12 years old. George followed that call for the rest of his life.

George, along with his wife, Anita Irene Annas, were married in 1952 at Forest Lawn in California. They pastored many churches together in Michigan and California while raising 4 children.

George and Anita retired to Sierra Madre in Southern California and then spent their last years at Westminster Gardens in Duarte, California, with George moving to his heavenly home on January 24, 2025.

George is survived by two daughters, Ruth Anne Mitchell and Ida Mae Custer, a son John Mark Swift, 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. His wife Anita and their son, Carl Reed Swift, preceded him to heaven. All three are greatly missed.
