George M. Scott, 88, a long time resident of Pasadena, passed away October 23, 2010.He was born on August 27, 1922 in Griswold, Iowa to Roy and Anna Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth. George is survived by his children George II, Melanie and Bill; grandchildren Jennifer, Clint, Kyle and Matthew and 2 great grandchildren Clay and Remington. During WW II George served in the United States Army. After leaving Iowa in 1955, George had a long career in the Pasadena Unified School District as a teacher, coach, athletic director and administrator. He was a Past President of the Pasadena Quarterbacks. He taught over 100 classes for 55 Alive, driver safety program and served on the Pasadena Service Federal Credit Union Supervisory Committee and Board of Directors for 21 years. He also was a member of the Masons. A celebration of George’s life will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Sierra Madre Congregational Church, 170 W. Sierra Madre Blvd., Sierra Madre, CA. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a donation in George’s memory to Pasadena High School Athletic Dept. or to a charity of your choice.
