Thursday, August 9th, George Niotta, a San Dimas resident for over 50 years, passed away with family and friends at his side. He grew up in Los Angeles where he attended Audubon, Dorsey and Van Nuys High School. George served his country in the Army, stationed in France. George spent his professional life as a salesman of wholesale liquor and many other things.  He was the Patriarch of the Niotta Family and graciously shared his legacy through stories to all he knew.  George was a survivor, tough as steel, a gracious heart for friends and family. Everywhere he went he touched someone, it seemed everyone was just 6 degrees from George Niotta. We know George has been welcomed into heaven and has been reunited with his parents, Michael and Rose and his younger brother, Michael. He leaves behind his loving wife Jeanne, sons George and Michael, daughter Carol, step daughters Cynthia and Gigi, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held Friday, August 24 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM with a rosary at 7:15 PM at Douglass & Zook Chapel of the Foothills, Monrovia. George's funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 25 at St. Dorothy Church in Glendora. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael John Niotta USC Baseball Scholarship Fund, C/O Ron Orr, Senior Associate Athletic Director, Trojan Athletic Fund, University of Southern California, 3501 Watt Way, Heritage Hall 203B, Los Angeles, CA 90089-0602.
