Gary Collier Steffens

Gary Collier Steffens, 65, son of Kenneth Collier Steffens, Naomi Lilly Smith and Euhlan G. Smith, was born November 7, 1944 in Springfield, MO and died February 28, 2010 from heart failure at his home in Temple City, CA. He graduated from South High School in Bakersfield, CA and Brigham Young University in Provo, UT with a B.A. in Business Management. He worked for Wells Fargo Bank for over forty years. He was the Vice President of the Real Estate Group in the Community Lending Division. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He devoted his life to providing and caring for his family and spent the last years of his life dedicated to family history research. He is predeceased by his wife Katherine Steffens, daughter Hannah Steffens, sister Anita Smith, mother Naomi Lilly Smith and biological father Kenneth Steffens. He is dearly remembered by his son Ethan Steffens, daughter and son-n-law Rachel and Christopher Freeman, daughter Mary Steffens, daughter and son-n-law Esther and Benjamin Williams, father Euhlan Smith, brother Lionel Joe Smith and sister Mary Stevens. He is also missed dearly by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 3:00PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 6249 North Kauffman Avenue, Temple City, CA. A private burial and dedication of the grave will be Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Greenlawn Mortuary and Cemetery in Bakersfield, CA where his wife, daughter, mother and sister are resting.
