Frederick Gabriel Tressel

Frederick Gabriel Tressel, 83, of Arcadia, CA, passed away peacefully in hospice care attended by his family on February 11, 2018. Fred is survived by his son Steven (Sally) Tressel, daughter Diane Tressel, daughter Susan (Steve) Crane, grandchildren Austin, Morgan, Zarek, Melissa, Mitchell, Jessica, Sophia, Leo, and many loving, nieces, nephews and extended family. Fred was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.

Fred led a life filled with family and adventure. Devoted to wife, Violet, his children and his work as a partner with his brother, Ron, at Azusa Pipe and Tube Co. in Azusa, CA he always found time to travel and seek out experiences with his family that enriched their lives and cultural identities. His love of history always informed his choices and he enjoyed sharing his understanding of world events that shaped his time in California. You could always count on Fred for a relaxed conversation and the knowledge that when you walked away from being with him that there was nothing but kindness and well-regard for you and your interaction with him. A true Californian, his interests served him throughout his entire life and he collected mementos of all of these things: His Family (all of them), his many pets, European history, especially the events surrounding WWII, Greek and Roman civilizations, Australia, and of course, Xena the Warrior Princess.

A special thank you to the staff at Arcadia Gardens Retirement Hotel, San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, the guidance of Apollo Hospice and the loving care and support provided in his final days at The Californian. Also thank you to Douglass & Zook for their assistance in carrying out Fred's final wishes.
Mass and funeral services for Fred will be in The Chapel of the Annunciation at The Mission in San Gabriel, 428 S Mission Dr., San Gabriel, CA 91776 on Wednesday, March 7 at 10:00 AM. Fred will be laid to rest in the San Gabriel Mission Cemetery in San Gabriel, CA immediately following. A hosted Celebration of Life will follow at the Hilton in San Gabriel in the Santa Barbara room.
