Bea Smith of Monrovia passed away peacefully on December 26,2011 at the age of 93. She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on June 13, 1918 to Janet and James Chesters. She is survived by her children Paul Smith, Kathleen O'Brien, Dan Smith, Linda (Rene) Gomez, and eleven grandchildren. Her husband, John and daughter Joan Smith Ovalle of Millbrae pre- deceased her. She is also survived by Angie Quadrozzi Rice, a special friend of the family. In her mid-sixties, Bea attended Whittier College where she received a Bachelors Degree in Social Studies. She excelled at her studies and was a foreign exchange student to Denmark. She was a Eucharist Minister at Annunciation Church in Monrovia until she was 90. Bea enjoyed needlework, playing cards, gardening and reading. Services will be held at Annunciation Church in Arcadia, on December 30, 2011 at 10AM, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
