Esther P. Lingle

Esther P. Lingle passed away peacefully on April 23, 2012 in Arcadia. She was born August 31, 1925 in Los Angeles, CA., to Jesse & Esther Petersen. Esther was a Dental Assistant in Pasadena for 22 years. She also volunteered countless hours and gave of her time with the Children’s Hospital, Green House in Pasadena, Cancer Society and the Fuller Seminary Adult Day Care. After the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, as the U.S. went to war in Afghanistan, Esther decided a local Marine unit deserved some appreciation. So once a week, she bought lunch for the 40 servicemen assigned to the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in Pasadena. Esther is survived by her children Laurie A. Harris, John Brian W. (Sheri) Horn, Rev. Dr. Gregory C. (Katherine) Horn, Dick Lingle, Ted (Gale) Lingle, Jim (Kathy) Lingle & Dr. Peter Lingle; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sister Elizabeth Pelon and nieces Nancy, Pat and Molly. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 2:30 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 3740 E. Sierra Madre Blvd., Pasadena. Private graveside service was held at San Gabriel Cemetery.
