SOUQUETT - Emily Souquett Hilerio passed away on the evening of December 18, 2010 in Arcadia, CA. Emily was finally overcome by her long and brave battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born in Glendale, Arizona, Emily is preceded in death by her parents as well as her brother Peter Hilario, sister Theresa Videla, her daughter Marilyn Del Arroyo and her son Richard Del Arroyo and a brother Joe Hilerio. She is survived by 10 children, a brother Joe Hilerio, 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren Of Puerto Rican decent, Emily was only 9 years old when her own mother passed away. She went to school up to the 3rd grade then remained home to care for her younger siblings. As an adult she continued her education, receiving an Associates of Arts degree from Pasadena City College. Emily had many passions; reading, history, gardening, cooking and of course spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren. She will forever remain in our precious memories. A visitation will be held Wedneday, December 29, 2010 from 5-8 PM with a rosary at 7 PM both at Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance. Funeral service will be Thur., Dec. 30 at 10 AM at Holy Angels Church in Arcadia.
