Elizabeth Ann Longo

Elizabeth Ann Longo, known to most as Betty, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 25, 2015. She valiantly fought her lymphoma for the past three years and was an inspiration to us all; she now returns home to the Lord to join her husband, Bill and oldest son, Michael. Betty will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren: Anna, Mike & Nicholas Merritt, Laura, Ed, Alexia & Brett Castagnari, Jerry, Sharon, Ian, Jacob & Evan Longo, Tom, Astrid, Ashlee, Domini, Riley & Carly Longo and Matthew Longo. Her legacy of love will remain with all of them. The friendship and love Betty shared with her large, close-knit family and many friends is a testament to the wonderful life she lived; we were all so blessed to have shared in her life. Betty was married to her husband Bill at Holy Angels Catholic Church 53 years ago and has remained an active parishioner. She always had time for family and friends, genuinely loved life, and welcomed all the people she met through her busy life with joy and sincerity. She was an active community member and lifetime member of the Arcadia Assistance League. Betty volunteered for years at Methodist Hospital Auxiliary and was an active member of her PEO group. She cherished her bridge, bowling, church and gym friends. We know her love will continue to shine on us all. We will miss her every day, but never forget her beautiful spirit. A Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. and Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Angeles Catholic Church, 370 Campus Drive, Arcadia, California 91007 and will be followed by a Celebration of Life Reception. In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Holy Angels Catholic School and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
