Dolores (Dee) Lane April 9, 1930 – March 21, 2012 Dolores Lane, an Altadena resident for the past 34 years passed away peacefully on March 21, 2012. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Randolph and Annie Lou Fuller. She is survived by her husband, Harold Lane, of Altadena, California, her son James Lane of Carrazozo, New Mexico and her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Paul Jelinek of Ralston, Nebraska. Dee, as she was known, taught elementary school in Illinois taking her graduate work at Western Illinois University. She is credited with developing a kindergarten and new curriculum for pre-school children in Jerseyville, Illinois. She partnered with her husband in his pastoral work in Illinois, Indiana, Northern California, Southern California and Oregon. She served as the president of the pastor’s wives council of the Pacific Southwest. Dolores was active in National ministries of the American Baptist Churches U.S.A. She held leadership roles in every church in the Lane’s ministry. Also she served two terms as the president of California Chapter FB of the P.E.O. In her several community endeavors she was chairman of the March of Dimes and voter registration in Southern California. Among her many accomplishments she was an excellent seamstress, a dedicated pianist, an avid gardener, and a published author. She was and outstanding hostess who enjoyed entertaining numerous groups. She loved to travel, and along with her husband she journeyed to 128 different countries over the years. Dee will be sorely missed by her family and many friends. A public memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, April 7th at 1:30 p.m. at Royal Oaks Manor, 1763 Royal Oaks Drive North, Bradbury, CA 91010. The family requests that donations in Dolores’ name be made to: Evangelize China Foundation 437 South Garfield Ave. Monterey Park, CA 91754.
