Debbie Premkumar

Debbie Premkumar was born on January 4th, 1993 at Arcadia Methodist Hospital. She was God’s precious and irreplaceable gift to each and every member of the family. Being the youngest, she was truly loved beyond measure. Debbie was dedicated at Lake Ave Church and attended the church school on-campus as well. Her teacher was Debbie Isenberg. She loved her teachers and friends and was often at the playground having a marvelous time. She was also part of the Christmas play and other special events at school. She had a very cheerful disposition along with a determined spirit which was clearly evidenced in her eagerness to outwit and outsmart her elder brothers, Johnny, Finney, and Denney. 

Debbie experienced numerous challenges in life due to her medical condition, but she never complained. She was always calm, patient, trusting and loving, meeting every difficult turn in life with a smile. Regardless of the unpredictability of her condition, she was secure in the fact that she was loved. Debbie absolutely enjoyed reading and was immersed in any book that was before her. She also loved listening to music. Her memory was exceptional, and she knew the words of the songs her Mom would sing in Tamil and the ones her brother Finney would sing in English. Each song lifted her spirit and we are sure the purity of her soul touched the heart of her Maker. In ways that we cannot fathom, her heart genuinely resonated with the heart of God. She cherished the simple things in life and taught each one of us what really mattered and had eternal value. She loved Jesus and expressed her desire to know the scriptures and especially any songs or stories that focused on Him. There is so much that we learnt from her because Debbie was a tremendous blessing from the gracious hand of God!

When her eldest brother Johnny got married, she welcomed her sister-in-law Preetha into the family. A few years later, Debbie had the privilege of being a wonderful Aunt to Jeremy and Jolena. When her brother Denney proposed to Amelia, Debbie embraced her as part of the family as well. Debbie was always full of love, adapting to change without murmur, ready to bear any difficulty that came her way with gentleness and grace. She was truly a Child of God. She often repeated Psalm 16:11 “You fill me with joy” along with her Mom followed by her Dad’s bedside prayer every single night.

Debbie went to be with the Lord in her eternal dwelling on October 21st, 2024. She is more alive now than she has ever been, experiencing joy unspeakable in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
